Public Domain Stations of the Cross

For centuries, artists have depicted the poignant, powerful, and universal themes at work in the story of Christ’s Passion: commitment and betrayal, sacrificial love and abuse of power, acute loneliness and mob mentality, grief and loss. For this year’s installation we selected public domain artworks from around the world corresponding to the events of the final days leading up to Jesus’ death. You are welcome to use this as inspiration to curate your own set of stations for your own context or to walk this meditative “way of sorrows” in solidarity not only with Jesus, but also with all victims of violence and injustice. If you are in Seattle 2/15/24-3/28/24 and want to walk them IRL, come by and see us at Bethany Presbyterian.
